COMMUNITY MONUMENT

BSAA Vice President Artist, Anita Shikles has donated her talent and time designing and etching the community monument.  Anita spearheaded the creation of the Community Monument of Appreciation to Military and First Responders presenting to each of the organizations in the community.  The monument size is 48"x8"x23", base is 40"x14"x8".  The back of the monument has emblems for our police, fire and emergency medical services as well as 6 branches of military:  Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Merchant Marines and National Guard.  Parks and Recreation is assisting with developing plan and placement in North Park at 1200 S. 134th, Bonner Springs, KS 66012.  Linda Edgell and Anita Shikles are planning the dedication ceremony,  Jim Jenkins, Kansas State VFW Chaplin, and the Bonner Springs VFW will assist with the dedication ceremony.  Thank you to Tony Malleck, Eagle Scout troop 14a, for installing the flag pole.

The BSAA is selling polished black granite bricks @$100 donation,  that will be placed in the landscaped areas around the monument to honor military and first responders.  Each brick may be engraved with 3 lines no more than 20 characters per line.  The rim of the base has names of donors of $500.  If you would like to honor those who serve you, please fill out the attached form and include a check or money order to:
